Florida Gov. Rick Scott, Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and others recently gathered to witness Xcelience’s ribbon-cutting ceremony for its brand-new, state-of-the art laboratories and executive headquarters, a 71,000-square-foot facility at 4910 Savarese Circle in Tampa.
Local, state and other officials celebrated the facility’s grand opening. The complex, which currently houses pre-formulation and formulation development labs and suites, along with analytical and stability services, will soon include a second lab as well. The firm's previous headquarters on West Laurel St. is transitioning to provide clinical trial and small-scale commercial manufacturing.
"This year marks a rapid expansion in our service offerings," President and CEO Derek Hennecke said. "In July we integrated with Powdersize because so many of our clients needed industry-leading micronization services. Now, with this new facility, we will be able to increase capacity throughout the organization. More capacity means we can be more flexible in dealing with changing client needs and timelines."
Xcelience is a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) that provides services from pre-formulation to global clinical supplies packaging and distribution to international pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients for Phases I-IV. Since its establishment in 2006, Xcelience has grown from one 45-employee venue to seven sites with a staff exceeding 200.
The company offers a wide range of services from pre-formulation and micronization to manufacturing and global clinical supplies packaging and logistics.
