Active community member and Gainesville, Florida native Brian Scarborough has joined the Alachua County Advisory Board on behalf of Gateway Bank of Central Florida, the bank’s Alachua County Market President, Danny Gilliland, announced recently.
Scarborough, who co-owns the family-run Scarborough Insurance business with his father Rick, has been with the family-run enterprise since graduating from the University of Florida in 1996. Their company focuses commercial insurance needs and employee benefits.
Currently, Scarborough serves on a number of local boards. Recently elected chair of the Florida Association of Insurance Agents, he was named Young Agent of the Year by the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers Association in 2015. Additionally, he served on the Alarion Bank Community Council for seven years, including two years as chair.
“Brian Scarborough brings exceptional expertise to the advisory board and we are happy to have Brian join our Gateway Bank team,” Gilliland said. “Brian’s longstanding community leadership exemplifies our philosophy of being part of the fabric of the communities in which we live and do business.”
