The Hertz Corporation has appointed Carlo Cavecchi as vice president for the Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation’s (HERC) Specialty Rental Group to help develop specific company sectors, the firm announced today from its Naples, Florida, office.
In his new position, Cavecchi, reporting directly to COO Bruce Dressel, will lead HERC's existing specialty business segments, including Pump, Energy Services, HVAC and Industrial Small Tools. His duties will also encompass development of additional solutions-based, customer-focused specialty areas.
"We are delighted to have Carlo join Hertz Equipment Rental," HERC President and CEO Larry Silber said. "His energy and enthusiasm, coupled with his deep industry knowledge and significant P&L experience, make him a strong addition to our leadership team."
Cavecchi gained valuable experience in previous service with an equipment and services provider to the emergency restoration and oil field industries and a British equipment rental firm, as well as The Home Depot.
"I am excited to join the Hertz Equipment Rental team during this pivotal time in the company's history," Cavecchi said. "I've always viewed HERC as the gold standard of the industry. I am confident together we'll be able to deliver dedicated customer service and win market share in this high profile segment."
HERC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hertz Corporation since 1965, operates one of the world’s largest equipment rental businesses, providing tools and vehicles for varied industries via 350 locations. HERC primarily serves the construction, industrial, oil, gas, entertainment and government sectors.
Hertz, known for its rental vehicle operation, transitioned its worldwide headquarters to Florida following its 2012 acquisition of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, anticipating that access to the Florida travel and tourism population would position the company for long-term growth.
