Latin Trade Group, a leading business service provider to companies throughout Latin America, today announced Antonio Sergio Alfano as their choice for CFO of the Year 2015 at its CFO Forum in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Klabin is Brazil’s largest paper producer, exporter and recycling business. Despite Brazil having faced economic challenges in recent times, Alfano is credited with providing the company with sound strategies and asset utilization. Alfano, its CFO since 2003, has been with the firm since it was founded in 1974.
"The award marked the outcome of the completion of this new $2.29-billion plant project that we had been dreaming about since 2003 and that will become a reality by the end of next March," Alfano said. "The planted area had to increase by 110,000 hectares to be able to supply the plant. It was a project that required a lot of determination and discipline to be completed."
Executives convened at Sao Paulo’s Tivoli Sao Paulo Hotel–Mofarrej for the event sponsored by Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
LT CFO Events has presented the forum since 2005 to encourage greater discussion and interaction among executives focusing on the trends, challenges and solutions via regional Miami conferences and local chapters in key Latin American markets. It provides an opportunity for CFOs to participate in high-level peer group discussions and interact in a private setting.
Latin Trade Group publishes award-winning content in Spanish and English for distribution throughout Latin America, the Caribbean and the United States through print, online media and events.
