Accounts receivable recovery service provider Medical Data Systems Inc. (MDS) is celebrating 30 years of service to hospitals and health care systems nationwide, the company announced yesterday from its Vero Beach headquarters.
"Health care providers today continue to face many challenges such as the implementation of the Affordable Care Act and (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) CMS guidelines reducing Medicare bad debt reimbursement percentages,” Chief Operations Officer Rick Masterson said. “We are all tasked with finding new ways to streamline costs and increasing cash flow, while providing exceptional services in our communities.”
As a management and collection services leader, MDS takes pride in its client relationships.
"I have found MDS to be a true partner with every encounter we have with them,” DeKalb Medical Center’s Executive Director of Revenue Cycle Jeff Korne said. “Through their counseling approach to collections, they have created an environment in which their interaction with our patients… collection and recovery of aged accounts and insurance discovery far exceeds other agencies offering similar services and does so without complaints."
The company has realized an “extraordinary” client retention rate, according to director of new business and client services Cheryl Spanier.
“We value the opportunity to serve and the relationships we've cultivated throughout our 30-year history," she said. "We work hard every day to continue to earn their trust, loyalty and business."
MDS was started in 1985 in Sebring by G. David Miller and his wife Amy, and today employs over 400 people servicing over 450 clients in the U.S. and Virgin Islands.
