National Waste Management Holdings Inc. last week confirmed from Hernando that its subsidiary, Sand/Land of Florida Enterprises Inc., has obtained an expansion permit and 10-year renewal for landfill operations from the Department of Environmental Protection.
Additionally, Sand/Land has been awarded the right to commence planning for lateral-lined cell expansion and, in the process of re-designing property located in Citrus County, will proceed to excavate in excess of 600,000 cubic yards of clay and other usable/salable material.
The permit elevates National Waste's presence in the solid waste industry.
"This permitting will bring us well into the next decade and allow us to develop our current operations as well as identify additional growth opportunities of our expansion into a full-service solid waste management company," National Waste Management Holdings CEO Louis Paveglio said.
National Waste Management Holdings is a leading Construction and Demolition landfill in Hernando. As well as servicing several counties, it is a distinguished leader in landfill services along Florida's west coast. Sand/Land offers landfill, dumpster, recycling and mulch services.
