Miami, Florida-based Southern Wine & Spirits of America named Bridget Albert to the new role of national director of education for the Beam Suntory brand on Monday.
Albert will lead the Beam Suntory brand knowledge and compliance coordination. Beam Suntory includes such marketing labels as Jim Beam Bourbon, Maker's Mark Whisky, Pinnacle Vodka, Midori Liquer and Sauza Tequila.
"We trust Bridget Albert's industry experience, knowledge and passion, and we look forward to working with her to further educate the Southern Wine & Spirits salesforce about the defining characteristics of each unique Beam Suntory brand," Philip Raymond, Beam Suntory’s senior manager for global brand education, said.
Albert previously served as regional director of mixology for the company in Illinois, Kentucky and Minnesota. She founded the National Charity Foundation of the United States Bartenders' Guild, the world's largest contributor to the cocktail culture; and has earned numerous awards, including the James Beard Award for Top Mixologist in the Nation in 2009.
