Rachna Bhasin joined Magic Leap, Inc. in Dania Beach, Florida, as chief business officer on Monday to guide strategic business and corporate development.
Bhasin will report to Rony Abovitz, founder, president and CEO of the light field technology company, which is developing a new mixed reality computing platform.
"After experiencing what Magic Leap is creating first-hand, I am confident that this technology will not only lead us into the next era of media and entertainment, but also more broadly how we will experience the world around us," Bhasin said. "It is beyond exciting to be a part of bringing this technology to market, and to join the amazingly talented team Rony has assembled."
Most recently, Bhasin served in an executive capacity with SiriusXM Radio. Previously, she worked in management positions with Dell, Inc. and EMI Music, North America. In addition to a degree from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, she holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Basin also serves on the board of the GRAMMY Foundation and is a member of the Strategic Advisory Council for Mouse, a student-empowering program.
"I am truly excited to welcome Rachna to the Magic Leap family," Abovitz said. "Rachna's strong business insight, strategic intelligence and leadership strength make her a perfect fit for the company. Her business experience in both technology and media will help us grow and build strong relationships across the world, and across multiple industries."
