Miami’s second annual New Construction Show will reflect how a healthy construction scenario and preference for luxury living are sparking the local building economy when it opens this week at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
Scheduled for Oct. 22 to 25, the Miami New Construction Show was founded by economist Anita Funtek, a real estate entrepreneur. As South Florida’s only buyers-direct real estate forum, the show will offer purchasers and investors a venue to view and research new luxury condominium projects in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Last year’s inaugural presentation featured 115 exhibitors, drew 15,000 visitors and generated over $125 million in sales within three days. 2015’s four-day show has a projected target of 25,000 visitors. In addition to touring exhibit areas, participants will be able to hear keynote speakers, as well as front-line builders, brokers and industry service providers at morning and afternoon panel discussions.
“This year’s lineup of exhibitors, discussion panels and broker presentations will give our visitors a more detailed view of the region’s innovative amenities, game changing projects and emerging marketplace trends,” Funtek said.
South Florida historian Dr. Paul George, professor of history at Miami-Dade College, will lead the keynote speaker lineup to discuss South Florida’s real estate evolution Oct. 22; Matthew Haggman, the Knight Foundation’s Miami program director, will discuss the emergence of South Florida startup businesses Oct. 23; and home space expert Egypt Sharrod, of The Egypt Sharrod Real Estate Group in Atlanta, will speak Oct 25.
The show will also present Miami broker Alicia Cervera with a lifetime achievement award. Over four decades, Cervera Real Estate has sold hundreds of thousands of high-rise luxury units; and she has been a consultant for some of the region’s most prolific developers.
Media personnel are invited to all presentations. All panel discussions will be recorded, and question and answer sessions will be included.
