Puzzle pieces, gracious vendors and much applause highlighted the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce’s recent Business of the Year Award luncheon ceremony, co-sponsored by SunTrust Bank, at Gainesville, Florida’s Best Western Gateway Grand.
The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual event to honor the area’s outstanding businesses.
WCJB TV20 reporter Niko Clemmons emceed this year's affair, thanking sponsors and welcoming guests to the venue decked out with puzzle-themed decor. Nine awards were presented — to Cloud 9 Spa Salon, Solar Impact, The Best Restoration, First Magnitude Brewing Company, Children’s Home Society of Florida, MindTree, Endoscopy Replacement Parts, InfoTech and New Scooters 4 Less — in a variety of categories including nonprofit, minority owned, startup and tech.
Guests heard from speakers Rory Causseaux, Gainesville Chamber board of directors treasurer; Susan Davenport, president/CEO of the Gainesville Chamber and Council for Economic Outreach; Brian Parks, president/CEO of SunTrust Bank in Jacksonville, Florida; and Gil Levy, chairman of the Gainesville Chamber Membership Task Force.
