Florida’s Clearwater Dental enhances practice with dedicated staff

Clearwater Dental Associates recently filled two positions to improve its efficiency and customer service, with Gale Decker as hygiene coordinator and Karen Garrett rejoining the practice as the office’s dental insurance coordinator in Clearwater, Florida.

Decker joined the practice in the summer and oversees hygiene scheduling. "Having Gail as our hygiene coordinator will help reactivate our overdue patients and [ensure] that patients on our 'call list' are contacted when an appointment becomes available," Dr. Matthew Burton, partner, Clearwater Dental Associates, said.

Garrett, employed for over 15 years as a dental assistant, has returned to the practice in an administrative role as the practice's first insurance coordinator.

"Having Karen as our dedicated insurance coordinator will benefit our patients by making sure all claims and predeterminations are paid in a timely manner," Burton said. "We have never had a dedicated insurance coordinator before, and we are hoping having someone in this position will improve our efficiency even more."

Founded in 1978, the business has five general dentists and specialists and includes 17 operatories. Dr. Burton serves as partner along with Dr. James Hayslett and Dr. Nolan Allen, supported by Dr. Maria C. Hernandez and Dr. Keith Kiskaddon.

Clearwater Dental Associates provides general, implant and cosmetic dentistry, offering various implants, implant-supported and removable dentures, Invisalign, veneers, crowns, whitening treatments, treatment for snoring and sleep apnea, extractions, gum surgery, root canals and sedation dentistry. Many of Clearwater’s staffers have worked with the group for over 20 years.
