Kincannon & Reed names Temple to oversee grocery segment growth

Kincannon & Reed, an executive recruitment firm serving the food, agribusiness and life sciences industries, recently named industry veteran Alan Temple as a managing director to serve produce and food sector clients from its Vero Beach, Florida office.

Currently chair of the Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association, Temple has also served on many produce association boards. In his two decades of experience at B&W Quality Growers Inc., a distributor of leafy greens, he positioned that company for strategic growth and sale in 2015.

"Produce today is an international business,” Greg Duerksen, Kincannon & Reed president, said. “Alan's outstanding background and experience is a perfect match with Kincannon & Reed's status as the only executive search firm with global coverage of the produce sector.”

Temple has experience spanning all phases of produce, from business planning to processing. He previously held positions with leading paper producers. A graduate of United Fresh Produce Association’s Leadership Program, he holds a BBA in Marketing from the University of Mississippi.

“Alan has been intimately involved in all aspects of the produce business including growing, harvesting, processing, packaging, food safety, human resources, sales and marketing, research and development, and physical plant design and construction,” Duerksen said. “His judgment and experience bolsters our ability to bring fresh talent to clients in the produce and perishables sectors."
