Tampa’s HCA West Florida joins Alignment Healthcare for Medicare efficiency

Alignment Healthcare, an Orange, California firm devoted to Medicare consumer health, has teamed up with Tampa-based HCA West Florida to bring better service to three West Florida counties via seven hospitals, the companies announced recently.

Effective Jan. 1, consumers serviced by Blake Medical Center, Doctors Hospital of Sarasota, Englewood Community Hospital, Largo Medical Center, Northside Hospital, Palms of Pasadena Hospital, and St. Petersburg General Hospital will all be able to access Alignment Healthcare’s services in Manatee, Pinellas and Sarasota counties.

Alignment plans to launch half a dozen Florida facilities, including two in Jacksonville and one each in St. Petersburg, Largo, Bradenton and Sarasota, to bring “concierge-level care” to Medicare patients, and provide streamlined, coordinated care experiences to consumers.

"We continue to look for ways to engage with insurers to bring even more value to patients' health care," Peter Marmerstein, HCA West Florida’s president, said. "By accessing these Alignment programs for chronic disease management, pre or post hospitalization services, we hope to see outcomes and overall patient experience improve for members."

Alignment is committed to providing customized care management for all subscribers, including those consumers experiencing chronic health conditions. Diabetes, COPD, congestive heart failure, wound care, and surgical preparatory and follow-up procedures are all met with equally dedicated care.

"Our companies share a vision to provide high-quality, high-value health care for Medicare beneficiaries, and together, I believe we are better able to turn that vision into reality," John Kao, Alignment Healthcare’s CEO and president, said.
