Construction consultancy Vidaris, providing a niche in high-performance and specialty buildings, recently opened its first South Florida office in Miami at 350 Lincoln Rd. to offer its architecture, engineering and sustainability expertise to regional businesses.
Vidaris has brought on Zachary Nord and Cheryl Marraffino as regional directors of business development for the new office. Nord comes from the firm’s New York office with additional experience in high-performance buildings, while Marraffino brings over 25 years of construction and real estate know-how.
The New York-based company, founded in 1994 as a combination of the Israel Berger and Associates LLC (IBA) and Viridian Energy & Environmental LLC firms, offers expertise in building envelope, energy efficiency and code compliance.
“Vidaris is proud to expand our national presence to Florida,” Vidaris President and CEO Marc Weissbach said. “As we continue to grow in size and geography, we identify South Florida as an important market for complex and high-performance buildings. We look forward to being a member of the Miami architecture, engineering and construction community.”
High-performance building attributes include energy efficiency, durability, life-cycle performance, and occupant productivity. Vidaris takes a holistic approach to structural challenges, seeing projects through from design to post-occupancy stage. Its professional staff serves regularly on advisory boards to keep the industry forward-facing.
