With stylized aqua waves surging symbolically atop its name, Destin, Florida Chamber’s brand-new logo was lauded at its recent 50th Anniversary banquet at Destin’s Emerald Grande at HarborWalk Village with over 200 chamber members in attendance.

At the event, the chamber doled out awards, installed its 2016 officers and board of directors, and unveiled the chamber's new logo.

“It’s clean, it’s fresh, it’s iconic,” Chamber President and CEO Shane Moody said, complimenting the new logotype for both its style and symbolism. “It’s something our board is proud of, and we know our members are as well.”

Highlights of the evening included recognition of FNBT Bank and Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park, both 50-year members of the chamber, plus numerous awards.

“There isn’t much that’s happened in the Destin community over the past couple of decades in which this year’s winner has not been a part,” Ken Wampler of Newman-Dailey Resort Properties Inc. said as he presented colleague Jeanne Dailey with a community service award for her work in beach restoration, leadership, charities and auctions.

Additional award recipients included Julie Cotton of Northwest Florida State College, for volunteer service; Kathy and Ken Whidden for their Emerald Coast Chiropractic business; and Bill Head for ambassadorship. Outgoing board members were presented with a plaque as incoming officers were welcomed.
