Doral, Florida — population 54,000 and rising rapidly — recently upgraded its website with help from Aeon Nexus, using a Microsoft CityNext platform to provide an “end to end citizen eservice environment” incorporating dynamic new cloud solutions.
“The City of Doral will be entirely cloud-based,” Gladys Gonzalez, Doral’s IT director, said.
The Miami-Dade County community, which currently ranks as the nation’s third-fastest growing city, looked to Aeon Nexus for guidance in streamlining its operations as it anticipates continued growth in the near future, with the added benefit of lowering costs in the long run.
Aeon Nexus recommended, and helped the city to implement, the Azure cloud platform: Adxstudio Portals and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online for Government. In a nod to the future of city management, Doral’s website is among the first city government sites to run its entire portal and non-emergency infrastructure on the system, which will automatically oversee and track service requests such as street repairs, license and building code issues, plus non-emergency police help.
“It’s a holistic approach,” Brett Cocking, Aeon Nexus’ managing director, said. The new site is “not just making one part of the city more efficient; it is setting the standard for how a city should operate, deliver value and interact with its citizens.”
Aeon Nexus, with offices in Miami and headquartered in Albany, New York, is a certified minority-owned and small disadvantaged business, serving public and private sector clients since 2000.
