Carrabba's Italian Grill, one of four Bloomin’ Brands Inc. companies, recently announced Mike Kappitt as president from its Tampa, Florida corporate headquarters, positioning the company for nationwide development with Kappitt’s broad business background.
With a portfolio of distinctive dining concepts, Bloomin' Brands, Inc. owns Outback Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar in addition to Carrabba's Italian Grill, operating 1,500 restaurants across the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam and 22 additional nations.
Kappitt has been with Bloomin’ Brands since 2011, when he joined as CMO of Outback Steakhouse. It was during his tenure that Outback introduced its wood-fire grill and lighter menu items as well as doubling the number of remodeled restaurants. In 2013 he became CMO for the entire company, overseeing all its brands — having come a long way from his beginnings with marketing experience gained at Burger King as well as operations practice from the Alamo and National car rental businesses.
Kappitt hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida International University.
