For six years running, Fortune has named Jacksonville, Florida’s own CSX Corp. among the world’s most admired companies, recently imparting the latest rating based on its reputation for quality management, personnel skills and investment value.

Of all companies considered, CSX was ranked second place in the entire trucking, transportation and logistics sector. Fortune was not alone in its judgment; additionally, G.I. JOBS Magazine deemed CSX as a “Top 10 Company for Veterans;” IDG Computerworld named it among “100 Best Places to Work in IT,” and Corporate Responsibility magazine pronounced it a “Best Corporate Citizen” all within the past year.

“As a premier transportation provider, we are committed to delivering safe and value-enhancing service for our customers, returns for our shareholders, opportunities for our employees, and respect for our neighbors,” Michael J. Ward, CSX chairman and CEO, said. “We’re focused on living our core values, which focus on safety, people, customers and integrity, to continue to create long-term, sustainable economic growth.”

Fortune considers nine different criteria ranging from investment value to social responsibility when determining its rankings. The final tally is based on input from industry leaders and analysts across a wide array of fields.
