Fiduciary Trust Company International, a wealth management firm and Franklin Resources Inc. subsidiary, recently revealed from Miami that Michael Cabanas has rejoined the firm to head relationship development for Fiduciary Trust International of the South.
Cabanas served as the firm’s business development officer from 2006 to 2013 before going on to become EVP at Coconut Grove Bank. Now returning to Fiduciary Trust to develop the firm's South Florida presence, Cabanas intends to increase community awareness of the firm's wealth management capabilities, working directly with existing clients and generating new business.
"We are delighted to have Michael back at the firm," Gail Cohen, chair and general trust counsel for Fiduciary Trust, said. "He brings unrivaled knowledge of both the region and the wealth management needs of South Florida, and will be instrumental in Fiduciary Trust's long-term commitment to clients, as well as to the trust and estate, tax, and legal communities."
With an MBA from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Cabanas is active in his community, working with both the United Way of Miami-Dade County and as a board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Miami-Dade County and other civic organizations.
With offices in three Florida locations — Coral Gables, Boca Raton and St. Petersburg — Fiduciary Trust Company International services individuals, families, endowments and foundations with over $75 billion in assets as of Dec. 31, 2015.
