Now “Of Counsel” to the full-service law firm of Folds & Walker LLC in Gainesville, Florida, sixth generation Floridian Clay Martin will advise the company on real estate transactions, business formation, contracts and government relations.
With two decades in law, politics and policy, Martin joins the firm following a nearly six-year stint advising two elected officials: Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam and U.S. Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL), for whom he spent almost three years directing district affairs.
Prior to his service with the public figures, Martin spent a decade consulting companies on business formation, relationship development, and contract matters, helping business owners craft and implement feasible business models and selecting complementary team members.
Martin has served as a commissioner for the City of Newberry; on the boards of Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce and CareerSource North Central Florida; and on Alachua County’s Charter Review Commission, Economic Development Advisory Committee, and Tourist Development Council.
An alumnus of Leadership Gainesville’s Class 24, Martin is a graduate of the University of Florida’s College of Law.
