Superior connectivity recently enabled Gainesville Chamber member iLS network — aka Swamp Rentals — to attain ranking as a 2016 Gator100 recipient, an honor in Florida’s business sector.
Acknowledged as one of the state’s 100 fastest-growing "Gator"-owned and led businesses worldwide, the company helps individuals who are relocating to find apartments — averaging over 500,000 visitors annually — without actually speaking to a single one.
“We’ve been fortunate to build a product that allows us to connect to our renters through the use of technology and help them narrow down to the apartment that fit their exact specifications,” iLS network co-founder Pete Zimek, himself a “Gator grad,” said.
Criteria for the Gator100 awards include being a University of Florida graduate with a business in operation for at least five years, with verified revenues. The honor is granted by the University of Florida’s Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center (CEI) at an annual two-day event on UF’s campus, including a welcome reception, seminars, and an awards luncheon.
“I’m proud and honored to receive this award,” Zimek said. “But what this growth in top line revenue really means, is that we’ve been able to grow and create jobs. We’ve been able to create a team and a creative working environment, and that’s what makes awards like that much more meaningful.”
iLS has fashioned its network of online apartment guides with technology enabling renters to find an apartment to match their lifestyle and budget. The company maintains websites in six Florida cities including Orlando, Gainesville and Tampa Bay.
