Rayonier Advanced Materials Inc., a producer of high-purity, sustainable cellulose products, announced a renewal of its working contract with major client Daicel Corp. recently from Jacksonville, Florida, with plans to extend their relationship through 2018.

"For 65 years, Daicel has been a valued partner and we are pleased to have extended our contract for another two years,” Rayonier Advanced Materials’ Paul Boynton, who serves as chairman, president and CEO, said. “We appreciate the trust Daicel places in our product quality, technical support and reliability of supply.”

Rayonier produces customized natural polymer-based performance fibers at its plants located in Florida and Georgia, having streamlined its manufacturing over the course of 85 years. Rayonier works to promote sustainability, ensuring that over 1 million acres in its jurisdiction remain working forests as its facilities convert more than 4 million tons of wood to natural polymers annually.

Pending a planned realignment of assets in the near future, Rayonier expects to expand its capabilities, yielding greater output of cellulose items utilized across a variety of applications and everyday items, from food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products and textiles to industrial coatings, paints, and automobile tires.

“The entire Rayonier Advanced Materials team thanks Daicel for the opportunity to continue our long-standing relationship," Boynton said. Daicel is its third largest customer.
