Power grids to come to 100 villages in Africa
A recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) took place between Fluidic Energy and the government of the Republic of Madagascar, which will help to provide mini-grid solutions of renewable energy to 100 villages and their inhabitants, who are currently without consistent electricity.
The Republic of Madagascar's government was represented by Minister of Energy Gatien Horace.
CEO of Fluidic Energy Steve Scharnhorst spoke on the involvement of Fluidic and the implications for those who will soon have reliable electricity.
"Not only are we positively impacting the lives of more than 400,000 people by providing a stable source of renewable based energy, we are also creating sustainable jobs, education and opportunities in the communities impacted," Scharnhorst said.
The mini-grid systems will be using over 7.5MWp of photovoltaic panels, 45MWh of Fluidic Energy advanced energy storage products, as well as pre-pay billing systems for over 400,000 people in the 100 villages. The project will be one of the largest in the category of off-grid electrification in Africa.
Scharnhorst added that the company's products were ideally suited for use in rural locations.
"This project will greatly benefit these remote villages by bringing reliable energy, improving the standard of living and providing opportunities for economic growth at both national and community level," he said.
