The New York boutique law firm of Jacob, Medinger & Finnegan LLP (JMF) has joined Fort Lauderdale’s Greenspoon Marder to bolster its corporate, securities and real estate arms, the company announced today from its Florida base.
Since 2015, Greenspoon Marder has been ranked an "Am Law 200" firm, recently gaining recognition from American Lawyer as one of the fastest growing such entities.
“Our goal is to be where our clients need us to be, and that requires that we build a national platform with offices in key business centers that matter to clients, so naturally, New York is a top priority,” Gerald Greenspoon, Greenspoon Marder’s co-managing director, said. “In addition, corporate and securities and our high-level real estate practice are at the core of our strategic national expansion plan, and New York is at the epicenter of both sectors, so we are thrilled to open the office and welcome the JMF team.”
Jacob, Medinger & Finnegan partner Keelin Kavanagh will head the New York office as a managing shareholder. JMF specializes in complex corporate and commercial litigation, particularly product liability, torts, and dispute resolution.
“We saw a natural fit with Greenspoon Marder,” Kavanagh said. “Their success, like ours, has been based on their unwavering commitment to client service coupled with a clear vision and the entrepreneurial drive needed to build an outstanding and distinctive law firm. They also offer a robust business platform that will greatly enhance our ability to serve our clients.”
With the addition of the New York arm, Greenspoon Marder now operates a total of 11 venues with nine Florida offices and one Las Vegas hub. The collaboration coincides with the firm’s celebration of its 35th year in business.
