National firm McGlinchey Stafford PLLC today announced that Mahra Sarofsky has joined its Fort Lauderdale, Florida office to serve as “Of Counsel” for commercial litigation work based on her expertise in real estate, credit and bankruptcy matters.
With a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law, where she served on the law journal and won first place in a New York State Bar Association writing competition in 2003-04, Sarofsky has litigated complicated commercial and property foreclosure cases and is well versed in federal laws pertaining to consumer protection.
"We are happy to welcome Mahra to the firm's Fort Lauderdale office and to our group of commercial litigators, as well as to offer our clients increased depth of experience," Michael Ferachi, who anchors the firm's commercial litigation branch, said. "[She] understands the perspective of in-house counsel as well as the issues they face on a daily basis, which allows her to provide outstanding service to clients."
Having operated in Florida since 2010, McGlinchey Stafford now dedicates 28 attorneys to full-time Florida work, with 16 of those in Fort Lauderdale and 12 in Jacksonville. The firm currently operates offices in eight states and the District of Columbia.
"Mahra … complements the existing strengths of our practice and allows us to better serve clients doing business in Florida," Mark New, head of Jacksonville and Florida operations, said.
