Lakeland’s Florida Southern College today revealed that highly experienced economist Antony Dnes, Ph.D., will become its Center for Free Enterprise’s new director as of July 1.
“I have dedicated my career to exploring the intersection of economics and law, and there is no better mechanism in place to allow for individual growth and success than free enterprise,” Dnes said. “I am delighted by this opportunity to lead the growth of the Center for Free Enterprise as a preeminent institute for the study of free market systems.”
With four professional degrees, Dnes most recently served as a professor at California’s Northcentral University, serving an international student population. He holds several appointments and has authored several books and many journal articles.
“Dr. Dnes is a scholar of international renown,” Anne Kerr, Florida Southern College President, said. “I am confident that his extensive expertise and global perspective will elevate the Center for Free Enterprise to become a worldwide leader for free market study at the undergraduate level, providing an unsurpassed educational experience for our students.”
Florida Southern College is the state’s oldest private comprehensive college. Rated highly by Forbes, U.S. News & World Report and several college guides, its campus was also named the nation’s most beautiful by The Princeton Review, with its buildings praised by Architectural Digest as well.
