Tampa-based Florida Pain Relief Group (FPRG) recently welcomed anesthesiologist Dr. Abraham Rivera as its chief medical officer, bringing 20 years of experience in pain management to the practice.
Dr. Rivera previously acted as pain management director at Florida Medical Clinic, a diverse group consisting of 200 doctors in the Tampa Bay Area. He earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico’s School of Medicine, fulfilling an anesthesiology residency at Albany Medical Center in Upstate New York.
Pursuing his medical career at Albany Medical Center with both private practice and instruction until relocating to Florida in 2005, Dr. Rivera specializes in spinal cord simulation, intrathecal (spinal theca) therapy and additional advanced pain management interventions.
FPRG, an affiliate of Physician Partners of America (PPOA), strives to balance pain relief technology with non-invasive techniques in order to enable patients to regain a full slate of daily activities. The group maintains two offices in Tampa: at 4730 N. Habana Ave., Suite 300, and at 3450 E. Fletcher Ave., Suite 350.
PPOA associates also include several Texas organizations. Together, its members follow a model of letting physicians administer treatment with care for individual needs taking priority over increasingly complex administrative avenues.
