Southern Wine & Spirits of Florida Inc. has debuted a brand-new Artisanal Fine Wine & Spirits division with Master Sommelier Laura DePasquale in charge, the company announced recently from its Miami hub.
DePasquale has worked at the company since 2015 as a strategic director and was tapped to create and market the Artisanal concept in 2016. She will report directly to EVP Gene Sullivan, general manager for the SWS – Florida division.
"I am confident Laura will be a strong leader of this innovative new division and will build and elevate its presence across the State of Florida for our suppliers and customers alike," Sullivan said. "The Artisanal division is a new and exciting concept in wholesale for Southern in the market.”
Previously SVP and general manager for The Country Vintner with a specialty in Stacole Fine Wines, DePasquale also acted as a VP at Palm Bay International for over a decade. She has maintained active involvement with professional development by serving as an instructor, examiner and speaker for the Court of Master Sommeliers – Americas.
"This is a tremendous honor and opportunity to build and expand Southern's new Artisanal division in Florida," DePasquale. said “I look forward to building a great team at Southern that will support our Fine Wine and Spirits partners and customers across Florida.”
Southern’s Artisanal Division will be housed in a 17,000-square-foot building nestled in Miami’s Wynwood Art District, with ample classroom, storage and event space.
