Southern Wine & Spirits of America Inc. and Glazer's Inc. will leverage Oppenheimer’s experience of over 25 years in the alcoholic beverage sector as he prepares to take the helm for North American operations with the newly launched Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits LLC, known as Southern Glazer's.
"We are excited that Scott will be among our group of highly experienced and talented commercial leaders at Southern Glazer's," Brad Vassar, incoming EVP/COO, said.
His new position as Regional President for the Control States and Canada will unify operations for Southern Glazer's, to be headquartered in Miami with operations, systems, and leadership and team members situated in Dallas.

Florida’s economy stands to gain a large share of the enterprise’s economic stimulus, with the new company expecting to market over 150 million cases of wine and spirits yearly. The venture will employ over 20,000 team members in operations spanning 41 states plus the District of Columbia, the Caribbean and Canada.
“Together, these two family-owned, industry leading organizations — each with a great history, strong values and entrepreneurial spirit, unmatched talent, and a track record of successful performance — will solidify our standing for years to come as the most capable and effective distributor in the industry," Southern’s Chairman Harvey Chaplin said.
