Franchise experts David Lopez and Scott Mortier recently launched The Franchise Whales, a business incubator to help new owners navigate the ins and outs of franchising.

“We know franchising inside and out and what it takes to push a brand to the next level,” Mortier said. “Both David and I have a track record of success with various franchises and know the right strategies that should be implemented to nurture and drive growth. This includes developing businesses into franchises and setting the right processes in place to generate several franchise leads each month and close them."

The Franchise Whales will help independent businesses build a franchise model, assist emerging franchisors in  propelling their businesses forward, and support established franchisors in reinforcing existing systems.

With more than 35 years of experience in franchising, Lopez and Mortier bring their own unique skills to the table for the aspiring franchiser and franchisee. Lopez began with his own restaurant, Froots, and launched it as a franchise. That experience led him to other franchises, such as Dental Fix Rx, which has grown to more than 250 franchises.

Mortier began his franchising career with Quizno's Sub as a franchise sales executive. He quickly expended from a multi-unit owner to executive positions with several other franchises, including 123 Fit Services, Gyroville, and Tikiz Shaved Ice & Ice Cream.

Areas of expertise for Lopez and Mortier include strategic planning, lead generation, marketing, management and franchise development.

The Franchise Whales is currently working with Miami Grill. The subsidiary of Miami Subs Capital Partners 1 Inc. has 40 stores with more than 100 in development.

“Our brand is one of the hottest restaurant chains in the fast casual sector, and as we continue to pursue further franchise growth, David and Scott’s guidance will be a tremendous asset to our team,” Miami Grill CEO/Director Richard Chwatt said. “Partnering with The Franchise Whales allows us to more effectively extend our brand across the nation.”
