A trio of SunTrust Banks Inc. professionals — Kenneth Carrig, Margaret Callihan and Manny Perdomo — recently readjusted their roles as part of a leadership change within the Atlanta-based company’s South Florida sector.
Carrig, completing a 35-year career in corporate HR, will retire at the end of 2016 as SunTrust’s Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Margaret Callihan, current chair, president and CEO of the company’s South Florida division, will step up to replace Carrig as of Aug. 1, reporting to Chairman/CEO William H. Rogers Jr. as part of the executive leadership team. Likewise, Manny Perdomo, who presently serves as senior manager for commercial credit risk, will fill Callihan’s shoes as chairman, president and CEO of SunTrust in South Florida.
"Ken Carrig strengthened the talent management process at SunTrust and introduced innovative systems across the HR function," Rogers said. "Margaret Callihan is a proven leader with broad banking and management experience to build upon these successes in the CHRO role. Manny Perdomo is integral to our business in South Florida and will ensure that we continue to serve and grow our client base in this important market."
Prior to joining SunTrust, Carrig worked as EVP of HR at Comcast and fulfilled similar functions at Sysco Corp. and Continental Airlines. Callihan has been with the company since 1978 in many leadership capacities, while Perdomo brings three decades of expertise in corporate, commercial and global banking to his new post with previous experience at Bank of America.
