During its recent annual leadership program event in Tallahassee, the Florida Health Care Association (FHCA) announced Amy Welty of PruittHealth – Santa Rosa as the 2016 winner of its Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) of the Year Award.
Presented during the FHCA’s yearly luncheon, the organization’s Long Term Care Excellence in Nursing awards recognize recipients’ skills and dedication across a broad scope, including the areas of clinical practice, patient-centered care, quality improvement, customer responsiveness, leadership and communication.
Regarding Welty, her supervisor Peggy McCullough pegged the eight-year Santa Rosa staffer as bright, compassionate, kind, committed and exceptionally loyal.
"Every patient occupies a special place in her heart, and a little piece of her heart goes with them when they leave," McCullough said. Welty, who received her LPN in 2008, has been with Pruitt Health – Santa Rosa for her entire career thus far.
The Association honors all categories of nursing professionals — nurse administrators, RNs, LPNs and CNAs — via its acknowledgements in the form of annual awards for Nurse Administrators, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants.
FHCA is Florida's first and largest advocacy organization for the elderly and their long-term care providers. PruittHealth serves communities throughout Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina as well as Florida.
