Brightway Insurance leads northeastern Florida industry, earns kudos

For the fifth year in a row, Jacksonville Business Journal has named local property and casualty insurance retailer Brightway Insurance as northeast Florida’s largest independent agency, with 27 regional and 117 nationwide branches in operation.


For the fifth year in a row, Jacksonville Business Journal has named local property and casualty insurance retailer Brightway Insurance as northeast Florida’s largest independent agency, with 27 regional and 117 nationwide branches in operation.

Headquartered on University Boulevard West in Jacksonville, Brightway began franchising in 2008 and quickly grew to outrank its competitors in size. Now served by over 220 employees at the home office, the company continues to focus on growth.

"What we are offering is unique in the industry and valued,” David Miller, Brightway’s chairman and founder, said. “The support system has helped our agencies grow premium an average of 14 percent a year since 2008. Already in 2016 we've grown from $395 million in annualized premium written to $411 million by June 3."

Forbes recognized Brightway as the nation’s “#1 Franchise to Buy in the U.S.” in 2015; at the same time, Inc. 500 named the agency as one of the country’s fastest growing privately held firms.

Additionally, Entrepreneur magazine has included Brightway Insurance in its list of top 500 franchises for 2016; World Franchising dubbed it a Bond’s Top 100 Franchise; and franchiserankings.com also included it in its top 100. Finally, Franchise Gator listed the company in its own top 50 fastest growing enterprises.
