Jeff Rainey, who previously served as financial analyst for Florida’s Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR), has recently joined the law firm of Colodny Fass to specialize in regulatory work from its Tallahassee office location.
Rainey worked for the OIR for a decade, most recently supervising the company’s admissions department to manage permit applications, certificates of authority and acquisitions in the property and casualty sector.
"Jeff's highly specialized experience analyzing complex mergers, acquisitions, demutualizations, conversions and new company formations of property and casualty and specialty insurers is uniquely suited to the core insurance regulatory services of our firm," Wes Strickland, chair of Colodny Fass' insurance regulatory and transactions practice group, said. "The knowledge he has gained as a regulator will immediately enhance our ability to provide superior service to our clients as they expand, both within and outside of Florida, and engage in mergers, acquisitions and other strategic transactions."
Rainey will join Colodny Fass’ insurance regulatory practice, working alongside one-time Florida Insurance Commissioner Tom Gallagher, as well as former OIR director Claude Mueller. Rainey earned his degree in management information systems from Florida State University.
With locations in Tallahassee and Sunrise, Colodny Fass specializes in insurance regulatory law, employment law and commercial litigation.
