Confronting the paradox of balancing daily jobs with skill improvement, Southeastern University, a Christian liberal arts institution based in Lakeland, offers working adults bachelor’s and master’s degrees in a variety of fields with generous flexibility.
“Business professionals understand the importance of continuing education,” Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce officials stated regarding the innovative program. “The challenge comes in finding the time and resources to pursue those opportunities.”
Evening courses are available in business, professional leadership, human services and ministerial leadership for those wage earners looking to polish their skills in preparation for advancement. Enrollees can elect to attend one class weekly to take advantage of personalized instruction while completing their course requirements on their own time through the school’s online portal.
Southeastern has taken steps to ensure affordability, pricing their classes at just $275 per credit hour — a price substantially less expensive than that offered by traditional colleges. Additionally, financial aid is available, as well as credit transfer for material covered previously — both of which can further lower the total tab for individual students.
“Many of our graduate programs have received national recognition for their quality,” school officials said. “There is never a perfect time for working adults to pursue continuing education, but Southeastern University is committed to making the experience enjoyable and successful.”
