For his effective and exceptional consulting services to regional business clients, Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce affiliate Javier Marin recently scooped the Florida SBDC’s Network State Star Award at an industry conference based in Orlando.
Marin, who serves as consultant and director for Florida SBDC at University of South Florida, currently mentors small business owners in Polk County and recently expanded his territory to the the Tampa and Brookville areas.
To qualify for the SBDC’s state-level honors, each potential winner is first identified by region based on his or her performance record in guiding local small business entities. Each locally recognized businessperson then becomes eligible for consideration at the state level.
Winning the Small Business Development Center’s State Star Award is a prestigious accomplishment and the highest possible accolade a businessperson can attain in the state.
Florida SBDC at the University of South Florida (USF) is located in Tampa, while the Florida SBDC network headquarters are situated in Pensacola. With over 40 locations statewide, the Florida SBDC network is the state’s main provider of business assistance to small businesses.
