Southwest Florida area office management professionals can take advantage of a seven-week-long series sponsored by Hodges University’s Identity Fraud Institute (IFI) from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays from Oct. 5-Nov. 16 at the University’s Naples campus.
“Data privacy is no longer just a concern for IT. As a business owner or manager, it is your responsibility to implement data privacy in your organization,” Hodges’ IFI director Carrie Kerskie said. “To help you through this complex process, the IFI has developed a seven-week course where you will learn the basics of data privacy such as conducting a risk assessment, developing policies and procedures and implementation.”
HR, IT and all other staffers responsible for data privacy within their organizations are invited to enroll. Classes are slated for 2655 Northbrooke Dr. and online streaming will also be available. Participants will discover how data breaches happen, what consequences to expect in the case of such an incident and ways to reduce risk.
Additionally, attendees will be able to brush up on current privacy laws, learn how to conduct a basic data privacy assessment, and gain the skills necessary to create proactive plans.
Professionals can opt to take one class for $125, or the entire series for $699. Prospective enrollees can register online at https://hu.formstack.com/forms/data_privacy_management.
Those who sign up for the whole series will qualify for a Hodges University Certificate of Completion. For more information, contact Carrie Kerskie at email@example.com or 239-598-6281.
