In a unique arrangement enabling instant access to over 20,000 listings, four individual Florida-based real estate businesses recently joined forces to multiply their collective resources via a high-tech platform allowing numerous reciprocal services.
Jacksonville’s Northeast Florida Multiple Listing Service Inc. (NEFMLS) and Northeast Florida Association of Realtors Inc. (NEFAR) have teamed with two Ocala-based entities — Ocala/Marion County Association of Realtors (OMCAR) and Ocala/Marion County Multiple Listing Service Inc. — to ramp up their networks by sharing data.
Current NEFMLS President Mark Rosener shared his enthusiasm, stating that participants anticipate expansion.
“I see this as a tremendous value to our members and is the first in what I hope will be many agreements that allow Realtor members in surrounding areas the ability to serve our consumers, and one another, with a much higher level of professionalism,” Rosener said. “The … boundaries of ‘local’ are broadening with technology — we are proud that we continue to take steps to stay ahead of the trends in MLS technology.”
RealtyWEB.Net’s Ron Stephan concurred. His company can utilize the partnership as NEFMLS’ operating arm, he said, and he regards the service as “mutually beneficial” with an easy learning curve.
Current OMCAR President R. Dale Barron said that though this is not his firm’s first foray into shared data, he regards the arrangement as highly valuable, while NEFAR CEO Glenn East termed the project “an awesome opportunity,” particularly for the ability to share lockbox system access with one another.
"This is an example of putting our members first and increasing cooperation within the industry and the local marketplaces," NEFAR’s current president Terrell Newberry said.
