Safariland Group has a new vice president

VIEVU body cameras, digital evidence platforms and other next-generation video technology products will get a

boost with the recent appointment of Tarey Gettys as vice president and general manager for Jacksonville-based manufacturer Safariland Group.

Gettys most recently was a regional director for a global investment firm, where he oversaw sales relationship developments. Gettys also served as a surface warfare and SEAL officer in the U.S. Navy. He received a MBA from Stanford and a bachelor’s in mathematics from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

"Tarey brings a unique, multifaceted mix of deep financial expertise and real-world experience from using some of our most advanced safety and survivability products," Safariland President Scott O’Brien said. “(He) gained an extensive understanding of some of Safariland's best-in-class offerings … embodies our mission of saving lives and … will bring the passion, service and commitment inherent in VIEVU's culture as he takes on this leadership role."

Gettys will work closely with government and law enforcement officials to implement policies for the proprietary products.

“I am excited to join the Safariland Group," Gettys said. “I look forward to leading the VIEVU team and leveraging my experience as we focus on bringing truth and transparency through our technology and innovation efforts."
