CONRIC PR & Marketing’s chief marketing strategist, Ryan Sheehy, who has mentored thousands of students in advertising and public relations, will head up a program on SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, timed) objectives for entrepreneurs on Oct. 13 at Fort Lauderdale’s Keiser University.
The SMART outline helps business stakeholders set goals and guide participants at the marketing workshop as they map out publicity campaigns for their companies.
The event is part of a six-week-long Goodwill MicroEnterprise Institute, a program started in 2010 to help aspiring income-challenged entrepreneurs evaluate the feasibility of their business concepts.
“Marketing communication strategy can be overwhelming to new business owners, so it’s important to articulate ‘the why’ of a program first,” Sheehy said. “My goal is to teach individuals to think strategically before jumping into the tactics of a campaign.”
As chief marketing strategist for the Fort Myers-based CONRIC, Sheehy has led the award-winning firm in campaigns to fine-tune client messages, optimizing their exposure and meeting objectives.
Sheehy, who has more than 16 years of experience, began her career in Orlando and has instructed students in advertising and public relations at the University of Central Florida in Orlando and Texas State University in San Marcos.
