Jim Birkholz recently joined the privately owned Florida-based homebuilder Mattamy Homes as president of its Tampa-Sarasota arm, with responsibilities that include land acquisition, development, marketing, sales and construction for the firm’s coastal market.
Birkholz, who previously worked as part of the Mattamy team in 2008-09, has 15 years of homebuilding industry expertise. He also served with the CalAtlantic Group, Standard Pacific Homes, Pinnacle Consulting Group, Centex and Pulte.
"Jim brings a wealth of business and people leadership experience to Mattamy, and we are very much looking forward to him leading the Tampa-Sarasota Division forward," Jim Leiferman, president of Mattamy's US Group, said. "We're pleased and fortunate that he made the decision to return to Mattamy, as it's an exciting time for our business in western Florida, and he is the ideal person to take the reins for us."
Birkholz earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from Miami University; he went on to earn an MBA in management, finance and real estate from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Business in Evanston, Illinois.
"I rejoined Mattamy because of the strength of the senior leadership team in the U.S. and the company's … long-term focus on creating value in the homebuilding space," Birkholz said. "Mattamy's U.S. business has tremendous opportunity for future growth and I look forward working with the Tampa-Sarasota team to help capitalize on and contribute to that opportunity in the years to come."
Mattamy Homes is North America’s largest privately owned homebuilder. Headquartered in Orlando, it operates additional Florida offices in Jacksonville, Tampa, Sarasota and Naples.
