Lakeland's fourth annual Art Crawl, which brings emerging artists into the public eye, will be held alongside the When Pigs Fly South BBQ Challenge on Dec. 3 at the SUN ‘n FUN Expo Campus.
Art Crawl will feature the juried work of over 50 local artists from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 3 at the SUN ‘n FUN Expo Campus at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport, 4175 Medulla Road. Live music and local organizations will be on hand to join the celebration.
Art Crawl will be running at the same time as the city’s annual When Pigs Fly South (WPFS) BBQ Challenge at the same venue. Parking costs $5, but both events are otherwise free of charge; families, art aficionados and barbecue lovers are all encouraged to attend.
The BBQ Challenge features barbecue competitions along with cars, motorcycles and airplanes, including historic warbird models, and rented yard sale spaces will be set up for the first Fly-Buy Yard Sale running in conjunction with the challenge.
Additionally, weekend camping is available, with basic dry camping space for $25 and full hookups for $35.
SUN ‘n FUN is a not-for-profit organization devoted to aviation education. It operates the Florida Air Museum and supports the Central Florida Aerospace Academy, an aviation-oriented career academy overseen by the Polk County School Board.
