The opening days of December saw the launch of a new hotel on the Key West coastline, bringing luxury accommodations to a 1-mile stretch of lushly landscaped tropical land at the apex of the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico.
Oceans Edge Key West Hotel & Marina is now the jewel in the crown of Stock Island, an area bearing the marks of a $400 million investment over the past four years.
And while the new hotel may be the largest on the Key’s seven islands, bragging rights don’t stop there. They include ocean-front views from each of the hotel’s 175 rooms and suites, six swimming pools, a restaurant, dog park and a 163-slip marina (the closest in the U.S. to Cuba), which is No. 1 in the world in terms of fishing records.
The property’s developer, The Singh Co., designed the property (landscaped with 300 palm trees) to honor the area’s architecture by incorporating arched doorways, open breezeways and wood reclaimed from sea-going vessels.
Offering waterfront dining, the complex’s flagship restaurant, the Yellow Fin Bar & Grille, blends full-service American cuisine with Caribbean touches.
Oceans Edge is at 5950 Peninsula Ave. in Key West, five miles from busy Duval Street. Go to http://OceansEdgeKeyWest.com for more details.
