Watercrest Senior Living Group began construction on its latest project in Port St. Lucie last summer, continuing its growth of assisted living facilities across the southeast U.S.
The Watercrest of St. Lucie West project is expected to open next year to meet the continuing needs of an aging Baby Boomer population. The facility will be more than just a nursing home – it will also bring a memory care community to the area, staffed with certified dementia specialists and other caregivers matched to residents’ needs.
The 102 assisted-living units and 26 memory care apartments in the complex will offer lakeside views with multiple dining rooms, a fireplace, pool, salon and spa – all the amenities expected in a luxury setting. Private-label wines and organic ingredients will also be offered in the facility’s food and beverage venues.
Off-campus attractions include a downtown waterfront, botanical gardens, park system, recreational facilities and games and spring training of the St. Lucie Mets minor league baseball team.
“The Port St. Lucie community has responded with tremendous enthusiasm anticipating the opening of Watercrest of St. Lucie West,” Marc Vorkapich, principal and CEO of Watercrest Senior Living Group, said. “We are thankful for the community support and privileged to honor seniors with the diverse, enriching lifestyles they deserve.”
