Lumina Analytics, a Tampa-based firm that studies actuarial data, announced Dec. 13 its newest hire, former insurance industry defense attorney Jessica Dareneau.
A graduate of Stetson University College of Law and Flagler College in St. Augustine, Dareneau served as lead appellate counsel with Weekly, Shulte and Valdes LLC in Tampa. In 2013 and 2014, Dareneau was named a Super Lawyer-Rising Star.
"We are very excited to have Jessica join our team," Lumina CEO Allan Martin said. "Our clients rely on Lumina for risk management support that often involves understanding of complex litigation and regulatory compliance. Jessica brings skills and experience that are sure to be appreciated."
According to a news release, Lumina “uses proprietary machine learning algorithms to address certain risks within the healthcare space, financial services, defense and corporate and national security.”
Serial entrepreneurs Dr. Morton Middelfart, who serves as chief data scientist, and Allan Martin founded the company with a mix of personal resources and funding from Atlantic Merchant Capital Investors.
