The funds, donated by the Community Foundation of North Central Florida, were awarded to Gainesville’s biggest supporters of the chamber’s mission to facilitate economic prosperity, business growth and community progress, according to a news release.
The foundation helps charities, donors and others who want to invest in the region’s future, the announcement said.
The nonprofits honored with awards were Helping Hands Clinic, $1,000; Einstein School, $1,000; Wreaths Across America, $3,000; Bread of the Mighty Food Bank, $10,000; and Gainesville Peer Respite, $390,000.
