Ship Supply International said recently it appointed Chief Financial Officer Ares Michaelides to become CEO of the Miami-based logistics services company.
Ship Supply said Ares Michaelides, who oversaw strategic initiatives, operational improvements and add-on acquisitions as chief financial officer, brings two decades of experience to the CEO role, including knowledge of growth strategies.
“Ares has brought a wealth of experience to Ship Supply and has a proven track record of executing growth strategies,” Chairman Jeff Zanarini said. “We look for him to continue executing Ship Supply’s strategic vision and further extending Ship Supply’s industry leadership.“
Michaelides, who earned two master’s degrees from the London School of Economics, formerly served with Starboard Cruise Services, the world’s largest on-board cruise ship retailer, and Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises.
“I am very excited for my new role and to continue building on the tremendous success of the Ship Supply team,” Michaelides said. “I look forward to furthering the expansion strategy and accelerating the growth in each of our four divisions: commercial, vessel management, fuel and agency services.”
