The Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee is gearing up for their second annual, six-day, Seminole Immokalee Poker Challenge festival next month, the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce said.
The festival begins Feb. 21 and “features two primary events headlined by the $1,650 buy-in, $200,000 guaranteed championship,” the chamber said on its website. The event will award more than $240,000 in cash and prizes, the chamber said.
This year the poker tournament has “an added seat in the $5,250 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship set aside for the champion,” the posting said. For this years challenge, there will be four rounds.
At the first poker challenge in 2016, there were 188 entries in total. The grand prize totaled $51,000 and was claimed by Herbet Woodbery.
Entry fees for the challenge are an upward price of $350 and will be included in the monetary grand prize.
