The Southwest Florida Historical Society in Fort Myers hosted its annual Cracker Dinner on Feb. 20 featuring entertainment by comedian, storyteller and attorney Tom Chase.
The evening at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater, 1380 Colonial Blvd., began with a buffet dinner at 5:30 p.m. followed by a program shortly thereafter, at 7:00 p.m., with former WINK-TV anchor Jim McLaughlin serving as master of ceremonies, a release on the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce website said.
Chase acted out impersonations and told jokes to the guests; music was provided by Beverly Cox and musicians Barbara and Roger Peterson.
The evening also included door prizes, a silent auction and a 50-50 raffle fundraiser, the release said.
Southwest Florida Historical Society will use the funds to support their mission of preserving local historical documents, photos and maps, and stimulating public interest and appreciation for local history, the release said.
