Dunwoody retired in 2012 after 37 years of service. Her last assignment entailed leading the largest global logistics command in the Army. the chamber said on its website. Dunwoody was the first woman in U.S. military history to achieve the rank of four-star general in 2008.
Dunwoody is currently president of First 2 Four LLC, a leadership mentoring and strategic advisory services company. She also serves on the board of directors for L-3 Communications, Republic Services and Logistics Management Institute.
The retired general also serves on the Council of Trustees for the Association of the United States Army, Florida Institute of Technology, ThanksUSA and the Army Historical Foundation, the release said. She also wrote a book, titled "A Higher Standard," that was released in April 2015.
